what is pto?

PTO is the Parent Teacher Organization. Parents and teachers together help to bring special events to the school in order to better the educational experience for students and improve communication between teachers, parents, and students.

what is the benefit of becoming a member?

Becoming a member, you have voting rights and can help in making big decisions.

do i need to be a member to go to pto meetings?

No, you do not need to join PTO to go to meetings. The meetings are held to pass on any and all information for events happening at the school. We encourage ALL parents to join us at meetings, we even have special guests at some of the meetings for parent awareness on various subjects.

what are some different ways i can volunteer or get involved?

Here at Guin Foss there are many ways to get involved, volunteer, or support your PTO. Here are some ways:

  • Join PTO

  • Partake in a Fundraiser or two.

  • Get in the Spirit with Spirit Wear and Spirit Days

  • Become the Parent Representative for your student’s class

  • Help with Homework or Thursday Folders

  • Become a chair for one of our many events

can i still volunteer if i am not a member?

Of course, we encourage ALL parents to get involved and volunteer for all of our events. We have sign ups at our meetings and will even ask for parent sign ups on Motivational Mondays. Please come out and join us at any event.

is volunteering required?

Volunteers are what help make our school awesome! Without parent volunteers (grandparents and aunts/uncles are welcome too!), PTO simply would not be able to put on great events and activities for our students and support the teachers and staff to the level that we do. We are asking every family to volunteer at least one hour per month, whether that's in the classroom, at special events or by showing your support at PTO meetings!

are extra spirit wear items available for purchase?

2024-2025 Spirit Wear information will be available soon! Until then, our Vintage Spirit Wear can be purchased in our Shop!

Are therre different levels of membership?

Our membership fee is only $30.00, we are not currently offering different levels of membership.
